〜たいです
Want to do something (the speaker's desire)machine translation
FormationVerb ます-form (drop ます) + たいです
Use 〜たいです to say you want to do something: 「行きたいです」= I want to go.
How to form it: take the ます-form, drop ます, and add たいです. After that, 〜たい conjugates like an い-adjective: don't want to → 食べたくないです, wanted to → 食べたかったです. The particle を before the verb is often changed to が: 水が飲みたいです.
Note: 〜たい is only for the speaker's own desire (or for asking the person you're talking to directly). To say you want to HAVE a thing, use a different pattern: 〜がほしいです.
Examples
