Nihongo keeps only the data it needs to help you study — nothing more. Here is all of it, in plain language.
No account needed to study
All vocabulary, kanji and grammar can be browsed without signing in. You only need an account if you want your review progress and quiz results saved.
What we store
If you sign in: your email address (to send the sign-in code and to recognise your account) and your study data — review cards and their history, quiz attempts and scores, study streaks. We never ask for your real name, date of birth or phone number.
Traffic numbers
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages get read. It sets no cookies, does not follow you to other websites and builds no personal profile — it only counts anonymous page views.
No ads, no data selling
This site carries no advertising. We do not sell, trade or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.
Where the data lives
Accounts and study data are stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL), Singapore region. The site itself runs on Vercel.
Deleting your account and data
Email us at the address below and that is all it takes: your account and all of your study data are deleted permanently, no reason required and no further steps.
