〜なくてもいいです
It's fine not to do it, don't have to do itmachine translation
FormationVerb ない-form (drop い) + くてもいいです
Use 〜なくてもいいです to say "it's fine not to do it, you don't have to".
How to form it: put the verb in the ない-form, drop the final い, and add くてもいいです: 行かない → 行かなくてもいいです. It is the negative counterpart of the obligation pattern 〜なければなりません.
Don't confuse it with 〜てはいけません (must not do): 〜なくてもいいです means "you're allowed not to do it", while 〜てはいけません means "doing it is forbidden".
