〜予定です
Planned to, scheduled to…machine translation
FormationVerb dictionary form / Noun + の + 予定です
〜予定です expresses a plan that has already been arranged, usually with an objective, schedule-like feel: 来月国へ帰る予定です (I'm scheduled to return to my country next month). Formation: verb dictionary form + 予定です, or noun + の + 予定です: 会議は三時の予定です (the meeting is scheduled for three o'clock).
Distinguish it from the 〜つもり you learned at N5: つもり is a personal intention held in your heart, possibly still uncertain; 予定 is a plan already fixed, often arranged externally (by a company, school, or itinerary). 行くつもりです sounds like "I intend to go," while 行く予定です sounds like "according to the plan, I will go."
Because of its objective feel, 〜予定です suits talk of train schedules, events, and work — things already down on paper: 電車は九時に着く予定です (the train is scheduled to arrive at nine).
