と
And (joining nouns); together withmachine translation
FormationNoun + と + Noun / Noun + と (together with)
と joins two nouns with the meaning "and": パンと卵 (bread and eggs). Note that と only joins NOUNS — it is not used to join two sentences or two verbs.
と also means "together with" someone: 母と買い物に行きます (go shopping with my mother). To emphasize "together", you can add 一緒に: 友達と一緒に見ます.
Unlike や, と lists things EXHAUSTIVELY: パンと卵 means exactly those two things and nothing else.
